In a world where you see organic and all natural labels on everything, does it really hold much value?
Cancer is a b word
I have a lot of Beautycounter clients who have cancer or are in remission. Like any human when your body is trying to kill itself you grab control wherever you can. For most of my clients in this situation, they grab ahold of diet and lifestyle changes. One girl told me that even though she has no control over what happens in her body if this cancer kills her…she does have a choice on how she feeds that cancer and she are going to starve it of any chemical it might love. To this day she is one of my best clients and uses Beautycounter from head to toe.
Another person searched high and low for products that didn’t contain certain ingredients because they would cause severe reactions with the medicines she was needing to stay alive. She couldn’t believe how every “safe” product she read had these very chemicals. Luckily Beautycounter was a company she is able to use and they couldn’t believe that this little company I’m always preaching about was the one lotion and makeup she could safely use. Don’t you think when someone is fighting that b word off they deserve any comfort possible to make them feel beautiful and raise their spirits? People might say, “it’s makeup Brittany it doesn’t change the world”…but you would be wrong. There is something about slapping on that lipstick as you sit down in the chemo chair that empowers these women and who are we to take that from them?
When I started our journey to a cleaner lifestyle I was appalled at what companies claimed to be safe but when I dug into their ingredients they either were very vague or very not safe. I wanted companies who I could look at their ingredient list and not want to cry. That’s why were started using essential oils for anything we could, cleaning with Norwex, and switching all of our beauty products to Beautycounter.
“Organic”, “Natural”, “Plant-Based”, “Safe”…..
These are all words meant to bring us comfort but in the beauty industry, they are just empty words. This weekend I was reminded of just that. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, no one should have to sacrifice their health for beauty. No one should have to worry if a shady company who claims to be “natural” isn’t really all that natural. There are some companies out there that truly care about you and some that care to only profit off the growing natural trend.
How can you tell? I highly recommend going to EWG and using their Skin Deep database. Start typing in your products and if it doesn’t come up ( the database is growing rapidly) then start typing in the ingredients from your product. The thing I get the most about Beautycounter is that people feel it’s too expensive to make the switch. I will say that since the products don’t contain a long list of synthetic ingredients, a little really goes a long way. Heck, I’ve had the same foundation for 8 months! However I get it, I’m a mom and spending any amount of money on myself gives me mom guilt. Using the Skin Deep app find your most toxic products and switch those out first. Then continue to swap out products until your bathroom isn’t a scary place anymore! I will say our kid’s line is what sold me on the company so that’s a guilt free (because hello we have no issue spending money for our kids) product to add in too!
This month too every purchase earns a gift to be given to the local cancer center. By you making the switch, you are giving a product to a mother, father, daughter, sister, friend…who is fighting their biggest battle.
Join the mission. Make a difference. Get that discount.
Another way to make this switch a little easier is to join this mission. Like I told you, in the beginning, I am not a sales person, never wanted to be. However, this company was something that I cared so deeply about that I get excited every day over growing and sharing this mission.
When you sign up you have access to consultant only kits that come with an amazing discount. You also get 25% off your products and commission ranging from 25%-35%. You also get a lot of amazing products from me personally when you join on! The best thing though? Yes even better than a 25% discount and making money… you get to help others. You too will start to form clients with stories that will break your heart. You will form bonds and get thank you cards from moms who didn’t realize what they were putting on their sweet babies and themselves. You will feel this proud feeling that you work for a company who is taking charge and intense rage at companies who don’t care.
Watch this super short video about Beautycounter and why Gregg decided to take charge! You will be inspired! We are not just a company we are a movement. Then send me an email with any questions, product questions, business questions…anything I can do to help you start getting safe products in your families lives. From Beautycounter to cleaning products, I promise to help as best as I can!
